Become A Member

There are two ways to become a member of UKAdance, by assessment or through the Qualification Recognition Scheme, if you already hold a teaching qualification with another recognised awarding body.

Assessment Route

Each genre that UKAdance offers a qualification in, has its own syllabus, which can be purchased from the UKAdance shop. Most candidates will learn this through an already qualified UKAdance teacher, if you do not currently have a teacher, we can put you in touch with someone who can help to guide you through this process.

Once you are ready to take the exam you need to complete an application form and return this to us and then contact UKAdance to make your payment. When your form and payment have been received we can organise the date of your assessment. Please note that there must be a minimum of 2 weeks after receiving your form and payment to the date of your assessment. The assessment will comprise of video submissions of your dance demonstrations, a portfolio and then a one-to-one recorded Zoom assessment with a UKAdance assigned examiner.

Qualification Recognition Route

Experienced teachers holding a dance teaching qualification, with another recognised dance awarding body, can apply to join UKAdance to gain access to our examination services for their students.

If you are a member with another dance society, you need to complete an application form and return it to UKAdance with copies of your qualifications and current membership card.  This should be followed by contacting UKAdance to make your payment.

Whichever route you are taking if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. You can contact us here.

If you you want to register a shop account you can do so here.
